About us (Pt. 1)

Hello, my name is Gavin Barnes. I’m one of three co-founders that decided to create this company. Besides us three there are about five other talented people working behind the scenes trying to make a living from game development.

Game Development is no easy task as you might have heard before. When the idea spread that we might be able to build up something on our own it was an terrifying thought, but an inspiring, too. Fast forward a couple of years and we are here just weeks ago from launching our very first game Idle Knight Legends. 

My Beginnings

I started developing games in the age of thirteen but quickly realized that I had to first get sufficient in programming. During this time I learned different kind of programming languages that helped me to find a job in website development when I turned fifteen.

During that time I neglected game programming entirely and picked it up at the age of seventeen again. From there on my career in game development began. While studying I did an internship at Piranha Bytes and worked on my first professional game called Risen 3.

Risen 3: Titan Lords is an action role-playing game developed by Piranha Bytes and published by Deep Silver. It is the sequel to Risen 2: Dark Waters[1] and the third installment in the Risen series. The Enhanced Edition of the game was released on August 21, 2015 worldwide for the PlayStation 4.[2] It is also provided as a free upgrade for PC players who own the game and all its DLC on Steam.

Together with a friend of mine we developed a small game called Balloid that has been released on the Google Play Store, but we never did a lot of marketing for it. 

In 2014 shortly after my internship at Piranha Bytes I joined Encurio GmbH to work on an upcoming multiplayer survival rpg game called Valnir Rok. That has been released in 2017 on Steam as an early access game.

And now it’s finally time to begin a new adventure with Immersive Pixels.
